Ghost Ranch Conference to Again Assess Higher Education

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-For the third year, a mix of college and university
faculty, students, administrators, campus ministers, college chaplains and
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) staff with responsibilities for higher
education ministries will gather next July at Ghost Ranch for a week of
assessing and strengthening the denomination's ministry in higher
education.
The 1999 conference will be July 5-11. This year's conference attracted
35 participants.
The conference will include worship, sharing of experiences, discussion
of papers that will be prepared for the conference and the mapping of
strategies to advance the church's ministry in higher education.
Planning committee members include Nan DeVries of Colgate University in
New York, David Gillespie of Presbyterian College in South Carolina, Julia
Jones of Ohio University, Miriam Pride of Blackburn College in Illinois,
Beau Weston of Centre College in Kentucky, Dorothy McKinney Wright of the
University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Bob Turner, Tim McCallister and
Duncan Ferguson of the Higher Education Program Area of the National
Ministries Division in Louisville.
