INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) -- "A feast for the mind, heart and eyes." That's
how the Rev. Theodore Nottingham describes an Easter television
special set to appear nationwide April 4.

"The Resurrected Life: Understanding the Meaning of Easter" will be
broadcast on NBC affiliates across the U.S. The program is a
production of the Office of Communication, Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ), for the National Council of Churches, New
York.

The one-hour program is designed for people who "hunger for
encounter with God, who seek paths of personal transformation and
renewal, or who yearn for deeper insight into the core mystery of
Christianity," said Nottingham. He is the television and video
producer for the Disciples' communication office.

"‘The Resurrected Life' will inform, inspire and enlighten anyone
who is interested in the spiritual journey," he added. The
documentary transcends sectarian divisions and "points to the
universal human experience of the presence of God in our midst."

Among the guests interviewed for the program is Father George
Maloney, author of 60 books on spirituality and a world renowned
retreat leader and Dr. Bernard McGinn, editor-in-chief of the popular
series Classics of Western Spirituality. The list also includes
General Minister and President Richard L. Hamm, the Rev. Edward L.
Wheeler, president of Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis,
and other pastors, professors and spiritual directors.

These persons, who represent various Christian traditions, are
speaking from the heart about their deepest beliefs and experiences
regarding the meaning of Easter, Nottingham said. "This may well be
one of the rare times when mainstream Christianity, especially deep
Christian spirituality, is seen on national television."

Program time will vary across the country. As times are finalized
they will be listed on the Internet at:
www.disciples.org/offcomm/Easter.htm.

After the broadcast videotaped copies of the program will be
available to viewers and congregations from the Office of
Communication, P.O. Box 1986, Indianapolis, IN 46206-1986.
