James Maloney as Director of Church Relations, effective Jan. 1, 1999.
Maloney, pastor at Glenshaw Presbyterian Church in the North Hills of
Pittsburgh since 1983, will be responsible for the implementation of all
church-related programs between Westminster and the Presbyterian churches
of the region, as well as the various governing bodies of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.).
LAURINBURG, N.C. - St. Andrews Presbyterian College has received a $5
million gift from The Morgan Foundation of Laurel Hill, N.C., the largest
gift in the college's history, President Warren Board announced in
December. St. Andrews will receive $1 million a year over the next five
years. The gift is not designated for a single project, but may be used to
meet any need of the college.
WESTPOINT, Miss. - Mary Holmes College, the nation's only private,
historically black two-year college, recently had its accreditation
reaffirmed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the
accrediting body responsible for certifying the academic programs of
colleges and schools in the southern United States. The accreditation
process takes place every 10 years. Mary Holmes will be reviewed again in
2008.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After nearly 50 years, Stillman College will reinstate
football in 1999, and the college took the first step by hiring Theophilus

Alcorn State University in Lorman, Miss., from 1986 to 1990. Danzy also has
coached at Miles College in Birmingham, Ala., Alabama A&M University in
