University-Jonesboro.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Rev. Frank Perrin, a veteran of numerous
governing-body staff positions, has been named interim associate presbyter
for Louisville Presbytery.
Perrin, who began on Jan. 1, will serve until a permanent successor is
found for Camp Edwards, who served as the presbytery's associate presbyter
for mission for 14 years until his retirement at the end of 1998.
CHICAGO - The Middle East Task Force of Chicago Presbytery is sponsoring a
travel seminar to the Middle East April 5-20.
The seminar will be led by Robert Worley, a retired professor at
McCormick Theological Seminary, who now spends part of every year teaching

people between 16 and 75 years of age.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - More than 250 people attended a Dec. 4 community
celebration for survivors of a deadly tornado that swept through Jefferson
County last spring.
The event was sponsored by the Birmingham Interfaith Tornado Recovery
Group, with money provided by the tornado-relief fund of Sheppards and
Lapsley Presbytery. The gathering was organized by the Rev. Jim Hayes, the
pastor of Fairfield Presbyterian Church. Hayes is also a member of the
presbytery's disaster task force.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - As part of its long-range planning process, South
Dakota Presbytery has designated 1999 an "experimental year" to "test
possible future changes." A video has been produced outlining the proposed
changes; congregations are asked to view the video and provide feedback.
Three elements comprise the broad outline of the changes: suspension of
the presbytery's program committees for a year; continuation of the
ecclesiastical committees, with training of committee members and church
members to be the focus of presbytery meetings during the year; and a
division of the presbytery into three regions, which will sponsor regional
events throughout the year.
