Adventist Church Video Presentation Wins Gold

Washington, D.C./USA. ...You might not have seen it yet,
but the judges have, and they consider the video production
"For the Heart of the Need" a winner. The video claimed the
Golden Reel, the top editing prize in the International
Television Association's global competition. It also won first
place in ITVA's Sales and Marketing and Editing categories in
the Maryland regional competition.

The video features the mission work of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church and encourages support for the ongoing
program.

"What's important," says David Brillhart, director and editor
of the video, "is that the courageous work of the men and
women committed to Global Mission be recognized. There
couldn't be a fantastic video without a fantastic vision for
God's work." Formerly with the Church's communication
department, Brillhart is president of the Digital Learning
Corporation, a media production company specializing in
programs that touch people's lives. Brillhart also produces
and directs the weekly broadcast "ADRA's World" for the
Adventist Development and Relief Agency International.

The video was scripted by Gary Krause, communication
director for Global Mission, and is a fast-paced account of
the great needs in many of the populous countries of the
world. Krause said that the video was filmed in September
1998 in the region of the world referred to as the "10/40
window."

"Our goal," said Krause, "is to show the need for creative
approaches to sharing the gospel in a very specific region
between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees south of the
equator." This is the region of the world most densely
packed with non-Christian populations.

"For the Heart of the Need" will be seen in churches around
the world as the 2000 Session of the World Church in
Toronto approaches. It is customary for Session participants
and local churches to designate a special collection for a
mission project. In 2000, the offering is earmarked for Global
Mission, the arm of the church spearheading mission
endeavors in countries where there is less than one Seventh-
day Adventist per million people.
