ST. LOUIS (DNS) -- The Rev. Patrice L. Rosner, vice president and
director, Congregational Ministries Department, Christian Board of
Publication (CBP), has accepted a call to become the director of the
Ministries in Christian Education of the National Council of Churches
of Christ, effective January 2000. Rosner will continue in her
position at CBP into December 1999.

Ministries in Christian Education is a cluster of program ministries
within the National Ministries Unit (NMU). It is the NCCC arena in
which member communions work to develop ecumenical Christian
education and congregational ministries. The committees within MCE
address aspects of curriculum and leadership, racial/ethnic
educational and congregational ministries, special learning settings
and special learning needs, and family and age-level ministries. The
director serves on the management team of the NMU, as well on other
NCCC committees and inter-unit task groups.

In her 22 years at Christian Board of Publication, Rosner has been
instrumental in the development of curriculum and congregational
program resources for CBP and its partners in cooperative publishing
ventures. Her curriculum development involvements include: Bible
Discovery, Journey Through the Bible, Discipleship Alive, Living the
Word, Children's Bible Series, Vacation Venture Series, and The
StoryTeller Series. In 1996 she was named editorial director of Bible
Quest, a cooperative curriculum for all ages that includes 10
publishing partners. Rosner coordinated more than 130 leader
development events and editorial projects, and recruited and
supervised more than 200 curriculum writers. She authored the book
Consider the Children: Planning for Young Children during Worship.

Since October 1998 Rosner has served as the convener of CBP's
dismantling racism team, in participation with the efforts of the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to dismantle institutional
racism. She is a member of the Christian Theological Seminary board
of trustees and a member of the executive board of the Association of
Professors and Researchers in Religious Education. She is a former
president of the Association of Christian Church Educators. Her
community involvement in St. Louis includes being elected to three
three-year terms as a member of the Pattonville Board of Education.
Currently she serves as vice president of the board. She is a deacon
in her congregation, Overland Christian Church, St. Louis, Mo.
