The Rev. Cathy Cummings Chisholm, chair of the General Assembly Council
has been honored with two awards for her book, "Landscapes of the Heart."
The book has been named a 1999 "IPPY" (Independent Publisher's Book Award)
finalist in the category of Inspirational/Spiritual. "Landscapes of the
Heart" also won Chisholm the 1999 Jim Angell Award from the Presbyterian
Writers Guild for the best first book.
The 1999 Independent Publisher's Book Award attracted nearly 1,300
applicants from 645 independent publishers in North America. Results of the
"IPPY" awards will be announced later this month. Chisholm will receive
her Jim Angell Award at the June 24 annual luncheon of the Presbyterian
Writers Guild at the General Assembly in Fort Worth, Texas.
In poetry, prayer and photography, "Landscapes of the Heart" reflects

eight-year period. This interplay of photography, poetry, and prayer
invites the reader to "see with new eyes" and to discover God's presence in
everyday images in the world around us.
