Wallace Gets PNAODA
Award at Luncheon
FORT WORTH-Howard Wallace, a pioneer in Presbyterian efforts to strengthen
the witness of the church regarding problems associated with the abuse of
alcohol and other drugs, received the David Hancock Award on June 22. The
award was presented to Wallace, a University of Dubuque professor, at the
annual luncheon of the Presbyterian Network on Alcohol and Other Drug
Abuse.
PNAODA board member Chuck Risser cited Wallace's leadership in
getting recognition for the problem in the denomination and establishing
channels for Presbyterian action. He also initiated a course at Dubuque
Seminary to prepare seminarians to deal with the problem.
PNAODA is a constituent group of the Presbyterian Health, Education
and Welfare Association.
