Financial Implications Updated for Commissioners
FORT WORTH-The fourth update on the financial implications of the 211th
General Assembly was presented Friday morning June 25, by Elder Phil
Barnes, moderator of the Assembly Committee on General Assembly Procedures.
Barnes again summarized for review the figures for the per capita budget as
they reflect both actual Assembly actions and those actions yet to be
considered.
Those figures are $176,411 for the year 1999 ($123,507, actual,
$52,904, to be considered), representing an increase of $.07 in the per
capita apportionment, $114,361 for the year 2000 ($64,020, actual, $50,341,
to be considered), $.04 increase in per capita, and $30,148 for the year
2001 ($12,174, actual, $17,974, to be considered), $.01 increase in per
capita.
The expected total financial impact of Assembly actions therefore
continues to be approximately $320,000, representing a $.12 increase in the
per capita apportionment. Implications projected into the years 2002-2005
continue to be estimated at approximately $300,000, for an $.11 increase in
per capita.
In calling the Assembly to be mindful of the need for careful
stewardship, Barnes assured the Assembly that his committee would
prayerfully and diligently prepare its proposal for a balanced per capita
budget for presentation and approval on Saturday, June 26.
