PILP Elects James G. Rissler
as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Investment and Loan
Program has named James G. Rissler as its vice president and chief
operating officer. He succeeds Joey B. Bailey, who recently resigned from
the position to serve as the Deputy Director for Mission Support Services
with the denomination's General Assembly Council.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Rissler has worked in the banking
industry for 17 years, most recently as vice-president of PNC Bank.
"Jim Rissler brings the right combination of skills and experience to
the Investment & Loan Program and the General Assembly mission of church
growth," said Ken Grant, president and Chief Executive Officer of the
Investment & Loan Program. At PNC he consistently strengthened customer
service and generated growing revenues and profits."
Rissler arrives at a time when PILP is growing rapidly. "In the last
26 weeks, the loan portfolio has doubled in size. The needs of both large
and small borrowers are being met. New congregations and established
congregations are using our services. In today's market, churches are
refinancing and doing new construction. This has caught the attention of
investors," explained Grant.
Rissler is an elder at Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church in
Louisville.
