Publishing House hires senior v.p. for marketing, sales

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) -- Edward R. Kowalski has joined United Methodist
Publishing House in the new position of senior vice president of marketing
and sales.

Kowalski began Nov. 29. He reports directly to Neil Alexander, president and
publisher and will play an integral role as a member of the executive staff
team, according to the Publishing House. Kowalski is responsible for the
leadership and oversight of the marketing and sales of all of the Publishing
House's products.

He brings 20 years of sales and marketing experience for large corporations,
including Cadbury, Spalding Sports Worldwide, and Thorn Americas Inc. He has
a bachelor of science degree from Villanova University and a master of
business administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of
Business.

Kowalski is moving from Wichita, Kan., to Nashville along with his wife,
Anna, and son, Greg, who is a high school student.

The Publishing House produces books, curriculum, and a wide range of other
church products and supplies for Christian clergy, laity and congregations.
The products are distributed worldwide through the agency's distribution
center in Nashville and sold through its 70 Cokesbury retail stores.
