Retirees to "Celebrate"
June convention slated for Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-"Celebration" is the theme for the fourth annual convention
of the Association of Retired Ministers, Spouses and Survivors (ARMSS),
June 1-4 here.
The convention will especially celebrate more than 100 years of
Presbyterian history in five special areas of ministry, including national
and worldwide mission, Christian education, and the gifts of women to the
church over the past century.
Keynote speaker will be the Rev. John Mulder, president of Louisville
Presbyterian Theological Seminary, speaking on the future of the church.
Other convention leaders include former General Assembly moderator the
Rev. James Costen; noted Presbyterian hymn-writer Jane Parker Huber; Ellis
Nelson, former Congregational Ministries Division director the Rev. Eunice
Poethig; the Rev. Syngman Rhee; Raphael Sanchez; the Rev. Margaret Towner,
first ordained woman minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); and
Henrietta Wilkinson.
Retirees selected by the denomination's 173 presbyteries for
outstanding service to their presbyteries since retirement will be honored
at the convention.
