	INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) -- The administrative director of the Reconciliation 
ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has left that 
position. Friday, June 2, was the Rev. L. Wayne Stewart's last day. 

	Stewart's departure came after a conference call meeting of the 
Administrative Committee's executive committee, which functions as the 
personnel committee for Reconciliation. 

	Stewart was called to the position in 1993. 

	The personnel committee has directed Lois Artis Murray, associate general 
minister and president of the Church Finance Council, to call an interim 
administrative director. In addition, the Reconciliation committee, which 
has been operating with fewer persons than its membership design 
specifies, will be brought into compliance at the July meeting of the 
General Board. 

	Reconciliation is a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) ministry to 
combat racism.
