Endowment funds sought for Native American ministries

	by Bill Lancaster

LONG BEACH, June 30-- Native American Presbyterians are seeking funds to
endow scholarships for Native American seminary students and to support
Native American ministry within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

The Native American Consulting Committee (NACC), which works in
collaboration with the Office of Native American Congregational Enhancement
under the National Ministries Division of the General Assembly Council, is
seeking $2 million for the Vision Quest Fund. The fund is managed by the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation for the NACC.

The NACC suggests amounts for contributions that recall the year 1492, when
Christopher Columbus became the first European to sail to America. Thus
funds could be given in the amounts of $14.92, $149.20, $1,492.00 or any
desired amount.

Send funds to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation, 200 E. Twelfth
Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130 and designate the funds to Vision Quest
account # 570I1530, NCF # 10522283. Or send funds to the Presbyterian Church
(U.S.A.) Foundation, PO Box 189, Owyhee, NV 89832 with the same account
designations as above.
