International Conference On The Future Of Human 
Rights Planned For Autumn 2000 In Hanover

Hanover, Germany.      An International Human 
Rights Conference with the theme "The Future 
of Human Rights and the Future of Humanity" 
is planned from August 31 to September 3, 2000, 
in Hanover, Germany, during the World Exposition 
"Expo 2000 Hanover", reports the European 
Baptist Press Service (EBPS) in Sofia (Bulgaria).

Speakers will include Dr. Jürgen Moltmann, Dr. 
Thorwald Lorenzen, Dr. Anthony Campolo and others. 
The conference has been endorsed by the Baptist 
Union of Germany and the Human Rights Commission 
of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). Hanover's 
regional association of Baptist churches are 
planning and organizing the conference.

Sessions will be held in English and German, with 
simultaneous translation provided. Lectures will 
focus on the history of human rights, the 
theological, philosophical and ethical foundations 
for human rights. Eleven seminars are planned on 
such topics as enabling human rights, human rights 
and cultural identity, religious persecution, 
human rights for children and minorities.
