MBM offers scholarships for urban leaders meeting
ELKHART, Ind. (MBM) – The Evangelism and Church Development
department of Mennonite Board of Missions will grant $400
scholarships to 20 applicants who wish to attend the Nov. 14-15
Urban Leaders Network meeting at First Presbyterian Church in
Flushing, N.Y.
The annual gathering brings together urban church leaders from
across North America for worship, study and discussion. This
year’s meeting, “Developing a Contemporary Anabaptist Theology of
the City,” features a keynote address by Myron Augsburger.
Participants will also examine three case studies and share in
worship led by Mark Perri, pastor of Immanuel Mennonite Church, a
Mennonite congregation that meets at First Presbyterian Church.
The scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served
basis. Contact Becky Tyson in the Evangelism and Church
Development department of MBM for more information about the
scholarships or to register for the event (219-294-7523 or
BeckyKT@MBM.org). Registrations will be accepted until Oct. 30.
A variety of accommodations are available, including budget
lodging with Street Life Ministries, located one block from the
church. The meeting will be held in conjunction with a Nov.
15-19 gathering of the Christian Community Development
Association.
