Mission leaders to discuss role of faith communities in society

MONTREAL, Quebec (MBM/CHM/Mennonite Church Canada) – Mission
leaders from around North America will gather April 21-24 at Les
Soeurs de la Congrégation de Notre Dame Maison Mère in Montreal
for the annual mission leaders meeting hosted by Mennonite Board
of Missions, the Commission on Home Ministries, and the Mennonite
Church Canada Ministries Commission. Using the theme,
“Establishing Communities of Faith in a Fragmented World,”
participants will engage in worship services, discussion groups
and plenary sessions.

Stuart Murray, a church planter and member of the Anabaptist
Network in Great Britain, will lead three plenary sessions on the
event theme. Plenary sessions will also be led by John Powell,
director of MBM Evangelism and Church Development, and Tym Elias,
director of outreach and church planting for the Mennonite Church
Canada Ministries Commission.

Worship will be led by Marilyn Houser Hamm, from Mennonite Church
Canada. Jack Suderman, executive secretary of the Mennonite
Church Canada Ministries Commission, will speak in the closing
worship service.

Participants will also have the option of touring Montreal,
featuring Anabaptist-related sites and a dinner in Old Montreal.

Registrations will be accepted through March 16. Each district
and conference in North America is invited to send at least two
representatives. For more information, contact Becky Tyson
(BeckyKT@MBM.org or 219-294-7523).
