ELCA'S DANA COLLEGE SUSTAINS STORM DAMAGE
01-089-JB
CHICAGO (ELCA) -- Several buildings on the campus of Dana College,
Blair, Neb., were damaged April 7 by a storm with severe winds, said
Robert Schmoll, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
No injuries were reported.
Dana College is one of 28 colleges and universities of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It has 583 students enrolled
for the current academic year.
Two buildings, both student residence halls, suffered significant
damage to their roofs, Schmoll reported. Elsewhere on the campus
several windows were broken, the roof on a baseball field dugout was
torn off, and several exterior doors and trees were damaged, he said.
After the weekend storm the campus was cleaned up, damage
estimates were made and roofs were patched temporarily, Schmoll said.
"No students were displaced, although we offered to move them if
they desired," Schmoll said. "Thankfully, there were no injuries."
