The Congregational Ministries Division has announced the appointment of
Billie Healy as the new associate for mission education resources in the
Mission Interpretation and Promotion Office of Congregational Ministries
Publishing. Her new responsibilities will include managing the promotion of
the PC(USA)'s Pentecost Offering and writing for the Mission Yearbook for
Prayer and Study.
Healy was formerly a program assistant in the Worldwide Ministries
Division. She has also served as a Presbyterian missionary in Sudan.

On May 1, the Synod of Lakes and Prairies elected the Rev. Grant Lowe
as its interim synod executive. He begins June 7, succeeding the Rev.
Margaret Thomas, who resigned last year.
In addition to parish ministry, Lowe has served in executive
positions for the presbyteries of Geneva, Northern Plains and Northern
Kansas. He came out of retirement to accept the Lakes and Prairies call.

The Rev. Dale Jackson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church,
Sullivan, Mo., has been named associate for small church development in the
Evangelism and Church Development Program Area of the National Ministries
Division.
For the past few years, Diana Stephen has served as associate for
both small church development and rural church development. She will
continue as associate for rural ministry.

The Rev. William E. Scholes, who for nearly 50 years served the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) nationally and internationally, died suddenly
May 7 at his home at Westminster Gardens in Duarte, Calif.
A graduate of McCormick Theological Seminary, Scholes served as a pastor in
Illinois for five years before going to work for the National Council of
Churches in 1952, where he remained for 21 years in a variety of capacities.
