David Newell, known to millions of American children as "Mr. McFeely, the
Speedy Delivery Man" on PBS television's Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, will be
the featured speaker at the General Assembly Media Luncheon, sponsored by
the Pittsburgh-based Presbyterian Media Mission on June 14 in Louisville.
McFeely will be joined by the Rev. Dennis C. Benson, producer and host of
the award-winning radio program, Passages, produced by the media mission.
Newell and Benson will help Presbyterian Media Mission celebrate 50 years
of television by the Rev. Fred (Mr.) Rogers and the 20th anniversary of
Passages. Newell, is an original member of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

The Rev. Mark Tammen, a Presbyterian minister and a lawyer, has been named
director of constitutional services in the Office of the General Assembly.
Tammen, who began his new work, succeeds the Rev. C. Fred Jenkins, who died
last December. He was formerly manager of polity guidance and training in
the constitutional services office for seven years. Tammen has also served
as a pastor, presbytery stated clerk and practicing attorney.

The Jubilee USA Network is searching for a permanent national coordinator.
The deadline for applications is June 1 but resumes will be accepted until a
candidate is selected. The Washington, D.C.-based job pays between $40,000
and $50,000 plus benefits.
The Jubilee USA Network is made up of a wide range of organizations
including
faith-based, labor, solidarity, development and volunteer groups working to
break the chains of international debt owed by developing countries. The
organization is part of the global Jubilee movement now active in more than
65 countries.

Elder Paul D. McKelvey, moderator of the General Assembly of the former
United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, has died at the
age of 93.
McKelvey was reportedly in fairly good health right up until his death. He
was elected moderator of the UPCUSA in 1961, when he was a commissioner from
then Los Angeles Presbytery.

The Rev. Paul Firecloud, a Native American Presbyterian leader for many
years, died suddenly May 4 on his way to a meeting of Dakota Presbytery.
A tireless organizer of and advocate for Native American ministries in the
PC(USA), Firecloud was also instrumental in the development of the Racial
Ethnic Ministries Unit following Presbyterian reunion in 1983.
Services for Paul Firecloud were held May 7 at First Presbyterian Church,
Sisseton, S.D.
