Church Center stunned by sudden death of Ray Duncan

"In difficult times the family gathers," said the Rev. Rosemari Sullivan to
staff gathered in the chapel at the Episcopal Church Center in New York City
after hearing that Ray Duncan, 53, died suddenly this morning in Hoboken, New
Jersey. Sullivan, executive officer of the General Convention, led the staff in
prayers "for our brother Ray that he may rest from his labors and enter into the
light of God's eternal sabbath rest."

Sullivan said that the family was still in shock but was planning for a
funeral that would be held in Lexington, Kentucky. A memorial service is being
planned for the Church Center community next week.

Ray Duncan has been on the national staff since July of 1986, serving in
several offices, most recently as publications manager in the General Convention
Office.
