Another award for Carpenter

Louisville, June 9-At the annual Presbyterian Outlook dinner on the first
night of the 213th General Assembly, Marj Carpenter received another
prestigious award in a long list of awards from the church and the world of
journalism.  The Ernest Trice Thompson Award, which honors the memory of the
founder of the Outlook, was presented to former PC(USA) Moderator Carpenter.

Marj writes regular columns for the Outlook and travels all over the church
and the world gathering mission stories to share through writing and
speaking, as she has done for the past several decades.  Like Thompson,
Carpenter has elevated the concept of journalism in the church during a long
and distinguished career.

She responded to the presentation with a typical funny story and by singing
"I Love to Tell the Story of Jesus and His Love."
