'MEET BISHOP HANSON' VIDEO NOW AVAILABLE FROM ELCA
01-284-JB

CHICAGO (ELCA) -- A new video, "Meet Bishop Hanson," is available
through the Department for Communication of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America (ELCA). The 11-minute video features exclusive
interviews with the Rev. Mark S. Hanson, ELCA presiding bishop, and his
spouse, Ione Agrimson Hanson.
Hanson, who was elected presiding bishop at the 2001 ELCA
Churchwide Assembly in Indianapolis, began a six-year term Nov. 1. He
succeeded the Rev. H. George Anderson, whose term concluded Oct. 31.
The video documentary traces Hanson's life from his early years in
Minnesota, to a summer in Chicago in which he helped organize marches
for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to his years as a parish pastor and
synod bishop, and his Oct. 6 installation as ELCA presiding bishop.
In addition, a video featuring highlights of Hanson's installation
service here at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, can be ordered.
Both programs were produced by the ELCA Department for
Communication.
