NEW YORK (UMNS) - The United Methodist Board of Global Ministries is seeking
copies of sermons delivered on or around Sept. 16, the Sunday following the
tragic events of Sept. 11.
The Rev. ST Kimbrough Jr., the board's executive for mission evangelism,
said the agency is seeking sermons "particularly dealing with the themes of
hope, healing, peace, reconciliation and justice." Prayers, litanies and
hymns also are welcome.
The mission agency wants to publish a selection of the sermons as a way of
providing helpful information in the wake of the terrorist attacks on New
York and Washington, the war in Afghanistan and the continuing threat to
world security, Kimbrough said.
Items for consideration, limited to 1,500 to 2,000 words, can be mailed to
Kimbrough at the Board of Global Ministries, Room 360, New York, NY 10115,
or sent by e-mail to skimbrou@gbgm-umc.org.
