Notes about people

	The Rev. Teri L. Thomas, general presbyter for National Capital Presbytery,
has been called to serve as pastor for Northminster Presbyterian Church in
suburban Indianapolis. She begins her new work in January of 2002.

	Five years ago, the 1,000-member Northminster Church was rocked by the
murders of its pastor, the Rev. Frederick Mathias, and his wife.

	Born and raised in the Midwest, Thomas has been a Presbyterian minister for
23 years. Prior to her presbytery staff work, she served pastorates in Iowa
and Nebraska.

	The Rev. Albert H. Freundt Jr., 69, succumbed to cancer on Nov. 5.

	The Savannah, GA, native graduated from King College in Tennessee and
Columbia Theological Seminary Ordained by Mississippi Presbytery in 1956,
Freundt spent his entire career in that state, serving pastorates in Forest,
Brandon and Durant. He was also a veteran stated clerk, having served the
Synod of Mississippi (1967-1973), the Synod of the Mid-South (1973-1987),
the Presbytery of Central Mississippi (1968-1985), the Presbytery of
Mississippi (from 1986 until his death) and the Synod of Living Waters from
1993 until his death.
Freundt served on countless committees and task forces at all levels of the
church and was published in many journals and books.

	He is survived by his wife, Alene Doss Freundt; children Albert ("Chip")
Freundt III of Clinton, MS, and James C. ("Calvin") Freundt of Brandon, MS;
grandchildren Zachary Samuel Freundt, Emma Katherine Freundt, Zoe Elizabeth
Freundt and Nicole Freundt; and siblings Paul Edward Freundt of Talking
Rock, GA, Mrs. William R. (Josephine F.) Smith of Miami, and Mrs. Andy
(Mary) Spahos of Savannah.
