Hallmark Channel features Vietnam video produced by PC(USA)
Program to air March 15
by Mary Pace
LOUISVILLE - "Vietnam Today: Through American Eyes," a video produced by the Presbyterian Church (USA) will air Friday, March 15, at 7 a.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel.
The Vietnam video follows a delegation of women and men from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as they visit health and education projects supported by Church World Service. In the video,PC(USA) producer Bill Gee gives his commentary as a veteran of the Vietnam War.
"While the war is still in the minds of many Americans who lived through that era, most Vietnamese were not born then. For the older ones, it's ancient history. The video tries to show Vietnam now, to close the war for those still in it, and show how the church works in a distant and unfamiliar land," said Gee.
The video was produced for the National Council of Churches of Christ program committee on education for mission. It's being aired as part of "The World of Faith and Values" series on Hallmark. To find the Hallmark station in your area, go to www.hallmarkchannel.com and click on "Channel Locator."
The video is distributed by Friendship Press. To order the video, call the Friendship Press Distribution Office at 1-800-889-5733 and refer to item #FP58395-401. Cost is $19.95 and includes a study guide.
