Kieschnick offers video,
plans future live webcasts
Synod President Gerald B. Kieschnick talks about his recent trips to
Europe, New York and Washington, D.C., during a 20-minute recorded video
presentation that can be accessed from the Internet.
Kieschnick says he expects to deliver other regularly-scheduled recorded
video-on-demand _ or live, streaming video _ presentations to update church
members on a variety of news and events in the Synod.
Computer users have access to the video through either of two routes on the
LCMS Web site: the "President's Page" at http://www.lcms.org/president, or
by clicking on the "What's New" link at http://www.lcms.org.
To view and hear Kieschnick's video presentation through a computer, the
user must have a PC running Explorer 5.0 and Windows Media Player 6.4, or
higher. It cannot be accessed using Netscape browser software, with
RealPlayer software, or from an Apple Macintosh computer.
David Strand, director of public affairs for the Synod, said that efforts
are being made to expand the service so that more computer users can see
and hear the video-on-demand presentations, which will be archived on the
Synod's Web site.
