     INDIANAPOLIS, May 23, 2002, The Rev. Kenneth L.
Teegarden,
former general minister and president of the Christian
Church (Disciples of
Christ), is in guarded condition in a Dallas hospital.  He
remains in intensive care after undergoing surgery
following a cerebral hemorrhage.   

     "Our thoughts and prayers are with Wanda and the
entire family," said the Rev. Richard L. Hamm general
minister and president.

     The family is thankful for the outpouring of support. 
Cards and letters are
appreciated, however as the family is with Ken they are
unable to return phone
calls.
 
     Among other leadership and ministries, Teegarden
served as general
minister and president of the Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ) from 1973  
1985.
