INDIANAPOLIS, May 24, 2002 -- A Montana pastor has been
called as director of Search and Call, the ministerial
relocation program of the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ). Warren P. Lynn begins his work in Homeland
Ministries August 12.

This newly established position provides oversight to the
pastoral Search and Call process for the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) and carries responsibility for work
with the General Commission on Ministry.

Lynn recognizes the importance of the search and call
process. "I see this position of ministry as a valuable way
to help the church ... provide qualified pastoral
leadership for [Disciples] congregations ..." said Lynn.

As a pastor, Lynn brings not only congregational
experience to the position, but technical experience as
well.

"Warren's experience in the pastorate and with computers
provides him the unique skills to successfully guide clergy
and regional ministers through the Search and Call
process," said Raymond Brown, Homeland Ministries interim
president.

Lynn has 15 years experience in a variety of
congregational settings, serving since 1988 in senior staff
positions. He currently serves as pastor at Grand Avenue
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Bozeman, Mont.

Additionally, he has served congregations in Washington,
Illinois and Texas.

Also, Lynn has participated at the regional level of the
church and in interfaith organizations. His related
experience and proficiency includes database work, Web site
development and other aspects of church administration.

Lynn received a master's of divinity degree from Brite
Divinity School-Texas Christian University, Ft. Worth,
Texas, and a bachelor of science degree from Warner Pacific
College, Portland, Ore.

The Kentucky native is married to Elizabeth (Betsy)
Richmond Lynn and they are the parents of four-year-old
Philip Charles Lynn.

Homeland Ministries, a general unit of the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ), commits to connecting people
to the life-changing love of God by developing partnerships
throughout the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that
strengthen congregations and leaders to make a difference
in the world by revealing the light of Christ.
