INDIANAPOLIS, June 19, 2002 -- The Disciples Peace
Fellowship has selected four young adults to serve as
summer peace interns. Nathan Brooks, Kansas, City, Mo.;
Emily Ruff, Ocala, Fl.; Tallu Schuyler, Nashville, Tenn.;
and Rebecca Smith, Mansfield, Penn., will provide
educational experiences in peacemaking for Disciples youth
in summer camps, conferences and regional events across
North America. Each intern will participate in seven or
eight weeks of camps and other regional events.
"Interns are persons who model peacemaking in their own
lives, who can communicate effectively with senior high
youth, and who see peacemaking as a part of their Christian
commitment ...Thousands upon thousands of people have been
affected by this program, including the Interns
themselves," said Amy Gopp, Coordinator of the DPF Summer
Intern program.
Carol Q. Cosby is the Homeland Ministries staff liaison to
the Disciples Peace Fellowship. Homeland Ministries, a
general unit of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
commits to connecting people to the life-changing love of
God by developing partnerships throughout the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) that strengthen congregations
and leaders to make a difference in the world by revealing
the light of Christ.
