President of Disciples overseas ministries resigns
The Rev. Patricia M. Tucker, president of the Division of
Overseas Ministries, has submitted her resignation to the
Division of Overseas Ministries board of directors
effective December 31, 2002. Tucker began her duties as
president on January 1, 1994. Prior to becoming president,
she had served nine years as a missionary in Japan and
eight years in pastoral ministry in Indiana. For more go

PTS moves to new campus
Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Okla., is on the
move, literally. All of the administrative offices and
part of its library have relocated to what will be the
seminary's new campus near Tulsa International Airport. The
seminary's faculty, its staff, classrooms, and much of the
library will remain on The University of Tulsa campus until
the new facilities have been remodeled to meet the

Refugee and Immigration Ministries recognizes four
African-American Disciples congregations
During the 17th Biennial Session of the National
Convocation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
meeting here August 9 to 13, four African-American
congregations received Certificates of Appreciation for
helping resettle refugee families.
In presenting the certificates Raymond E. Brown, former
interim president of Homeland Ministries, commended the
congregations for their willingness to answer the gospel
call, "I was a stranger and you welcomed me!" -- For more
