   Following a set of seminars held by the education committee of
the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT), the contributions of
participants from many social sectors were sorted and gathered
into a book of reports.  The "Life Education Seminar Papers"
includes the gathered wisdom of the presenters, participants'
discussions and critique.  The Rev. Ms. Chiou Chiong-yuan, the
PCT's education secretary, said, ""life education is an
opportunity for the church to proclaim the gospel.  At the same
time it is the mainspring of the future church's educational
thrust.  This new book introduces the theoretical basis of life
education and many of its aspects. We welcome anyone interested
in the topic to contact the PCT's education department to order a
copy."
   "In the prayer that the Lord Jesus taught us to pray, we say,
'your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.'  We don't say,
'may your will be done in the church.'" Rev. Chiou added, "Life
education takes its shape from life, and does not necessarily
produce short term church growth.  But life education gives shape
to life, and is an avenue through which the Kingdom of God is
made manifest on earth.  As a set of guiding principles for the
design of Sunday school, youth groups, and in youth mission
projects, it is a very good starting point."
