Archbishop raises concern following attacks on Pakistan Christians
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey, has expressed his concern at
the plight of Christians in Pakistan following the spate of recent attacks.
In a letter sent to President Musharraf, Dr Carey acknowledges that steps
have been taken to protect Christians living in Pakistan but expresses
concern that Christians still remain vulnerable to mistreatment and attack.
Dr Carey also raises the case of Mr Robin Pirra Ditta, a survivor of the
Karachi attack in which seven Christians working for a welfare organisation
were killed, asking the President to investigate reports that Mr Ditta is
still being held in custody against his will.
Dr Carey concludes by assuring the President of his continued prayers for
the people of Pakistan following the general elections.
