Joint statement from Church of Ireland Archbishops on Iraq

[Church of Ireland Press Office] The Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh,
Dr Robin Eames, and the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr John Neill, today issued
the following statement:

"As military action in Iraq commences we remember in our prayers all those
whose lives are in danger throughout the Middle East.

"No one can predict the future or the consequences of this war.

"We pray for the leaders of the nations, for the servicemen and women and
their families at this time of deep concern.

"We would urge all to remember in their prayers the innocent people of the
whole region - Muslim, Christian and Jewish - whose lives are at such grave
risk in the present conflict.

"At this time of uncertainty and potential danger we pray that peace and
justice may emerge before long in the Middle East."

+Robert Armagh +John Dublin
