	North Wisconsin re-elects Lutz

	On the first ballot, delegates to the North Wisconsin District
convention, June15-17 in Appleton, re-elected Dr. Arleigh L. Lutz Jr. to
his seventh term as district president.

	They also re-elected Rev. Paul Weber of Marquette, first vice
president, and Rev. William Plautz, Chippewa Falls, third vice
president. Newly elected was Rev. Donald Sprengler, Antigo, second vice
president.

	In convention action, delegates passed a resolution that asks
congregations to consider and to implement over the next three years a
set of four Harvest affirmations for outreach.

	Since the harvest is ripe, one of those affirmations says, it
is urgent that it be gathered in now before it is too late.

	The affirmations also were the topics of convention Bible
studies.

	Another adopted resolution encourages district congregations to
set goals to increase their total giving for missions.

	With the convention theme Ripe for the Harvest, LCMS World
Mission Executive Director Rev. Robert Roegner made a presentation to
the convention in which he stressed the urgency of sharing the Gospel.
