	Northwest re-elects Schumacher
	to fourth term as president

	Delegates re-elected Dr. Warren Schumacher on the first ballot
to his fourth term as Northwest District president during the districts
convention June 26-28 in Portland, Ore.

	Six pastors were elected to vice presidencies -- Rev. Clemens
Pera, Seattle, first vice president; Rev. Keith Eilers, Seattle, second
vice president; Rev. Tyrus Miles, Portland, third vice president; Rev.
Michael Donnan, Rupert, Idaho, fourth vice president; Rev. Laurence
Meyer, Richland, Wash., fifth vice president; and Rev. Jonathan Rockey,
Palmer, Alaska, sixth vice president. Except for the first vice
president, the vice presidents were elected to represent regions of the
district.

	With a convention theme of Tracking the Spirit, delegates
passed a resolution outlining a district Gospel-outreach model for the
21st century. One of the goals of the model is to increase the number of
congregation members in the district from 82,000 to 103,000 by the end
of 2006.

	Another resolution that they passed encourages the members in
the district to take leadership roles in promoting peace and unity in
the Synod.
