LWF Tenth Assembly, Winnipeg, Canada, 21-31 July 2003

PRESS RELEASE NO. 26

Join the LWF Tenth Assembly Online

WINNIPEG, Canada, 29 July 2003 - Anyone with access to the Internet can
follow the proceedings of the Tenth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation
(LWF) underway in Winnipeg * in four languages English, German, French and
Spanish. WWW.LWF-Assembly.org links one to press releases, audio and video
reports, the daily highlights, hundreds of professional photographs and the
Assembly newspaper, "The Source."

Over 25 press releases in English have been published so far, and comparable
numbers in the other languages.

The availability of Assembly information on the Internet has been especially
important to the 51 delegates from developing countries who could not come to
the Assembly because the Canadian government refused them visas.

The array of stories cover the worship services, the ten Village Groups that
are discussing the key concerns for the Assembly, a team of 700 volunteers,
major speeches, greetings by several ecumenical partners, and a variety of
features coming out of this gathering of 820 participants, including
visitors, journalists, interpreters, translators and 380 delegates.

Photos from the Assembly can be downloaded as well as ordered online. In
addition, all five issues of "The Source" will be available online in PDF
format.

The Tenth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is taking place
21-31 July 2003 in Winnipeg, Canada, under the theme "For the Healing of the
World." It is being hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada
(ELCIC).

There are around 820 men, women and youth participants in the Tenth Assebly
including 380 delegates from the 133 churches with full membership and three
associate members. The Assembly is the highest decision-making body of the
