Executed Florida 'minister' wasn't PC(USA)

By Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Paul Hill, the anti-abortionist executed in Florida on Sept. 2
for the murders of a physician and his bodyguard, never was a minister in the
Presbyterian Church (USA).

Hill, who has been described as a "former Presbyterian minister," was a
clergyman in the Presbyterian Church of America from 1984 to 1989.

He transferred to the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, which later removed him
from ministry. He then joined an independent congregation, from which he was
excommunicated after he began espousing violence against doctors and others
who provide abortion services.
