April date set for local church historians seminar

Presbyterian Historical Society annual event April 26-30 at Montreat

LOUISVILLE - The Presbyterian Historical Society will conduct its 26th annual
Seminar on Local Church History from April 26-30, 2004 at the Montreat
Conference Center in North Carolina.

	The yearly event is designed for Presbyterians who are interested in
the collection, preservation and writing of their congregation's history.

	The seminar will also include workshops on the preservation of church
records, disaster preparedness, oral history, exhibiting historical church
treasures, photograph preservation and ideas for celebrating a congregation's
anniversary.

	As has become customary, the seminar will include a two-part writing
workshop especially for Presbyterian Women historians.

	Two partial scholarships for participants from small churches
(including one restricted to congregations in the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic)
are available for the seminar.
