LOUISVILLE - A CBS television special this weekend will highlight the
outreach efforts of Presbyterian young people and ministers in New York
state.

The half-hour program, "Youth Making a Difference," will be telecast
Sunday, Dec. 14, at 8:00 a.m., Eastern Time.

One segment of the program visits Muslim teenagers helping at
Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen in central New Jersey. The Rev. Lisanne
Finston, a Presbyterian minister is executive director of Elijah's Promise.
The religious director is Imam Hamad Ahmad Chebli.

Another segment follows high school and college students at Bedford
(NY) Presbyterian Church as they go to Hurley, VA, and Nicaragua to work with
anti-poverty groups in both places. Bedford's pastor is the Rev. Paul Acorn.

Other segments show students at Iona College, a small Catholic school
in New Rochelle, NY, as they work on urban housing and poverty; Jewish high
school students in New Jersey who work with emotionally-, physically- and
mentally-challenged kids at a day camp and with at-risk inner city kids in
their communities; and a 10-year-old in Mt. Kisco, NY, Blake Bartko, who
decided to throw birthday parties and give gifts to poor children who are
