Presbyterian publications win awards

LOUISVILLE - Presbyterian publications have won five prestigious 2004
DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards, the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) announced
today.
The awards will be presented on March 26 during the RCC's annual
convention in Birmingham, AL.
HORIZONS, the magazine of Presbyterian Women, won two awards: an
Award of Excellence (first prize) for the Program Book for the 2003
Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women; and an Award of Merit (second
prize) in the national magazine category for overall excellence.
Presbyterians Today, the denominational magazine edited by Eva G.
Stimson, won an Award of Merit in the magazine article category for John
Filiatreau's April 2003 story, "Top 10 Travel Destinations for Presbyterian
Pilgrims."
Among regional newspapers, Presbyterian Voice - the newspaper of the
Synod of Living Waters edited by Jane D. Hines - won an Award of Merit.
And Thuji Lhamu of Bellewood Presbyterian Homes for Children, in
Louisville, won an Award of Merit in the special printed materials category
for Bellewood's 2004 Calendar.
Faith and Values Media - an ecumenical organization related to the
Presbyterian Church (USA) - won four DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards for cable
television programs and series and for its electronic newsletter.
