Dear LCMSNOTES Subscriber:
As you may know, ABC-TV will broadcast a three-hour prime-time
special focusing on Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul on Monday, April
5, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET.
What you may not know is that Dr. Paul L. Maier, noted LCMS
author and renowned scholar of ancient history, will be among the expert
commentators featured on the show.
The program, hosted by Peter Jennings, is called "Peter Jennings
Reporting: Jesus and Paul--The Word and the Witness."
The Rev. Dr. Paul L. Maier, fourth vice president of The
Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, is The Russell H. Seibert Professor of
Ancient History at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. He is the
author of many books, including THE FLAMES OF ROME, IN THE FULLNESS OF
TIME, and two recent novels, A SKELETON IN GOD'S CLOSET and MORE THAN A
SKELETON. He is a widely recognized expert on the historical,
geographical and archaeological background of the Bible, a man Dr. D.
James Kennedy calls "one of the premier historians of our time."
Thank you.
David Strand
Director of Public Affairs
The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod
