	Delegates pass five district and congregational services
resolutions

	Yesterday (July 14) afternoon, delegates passed by wide margins
five resolutions presented by the floor committee on district and
congregational services. They have to do with celebrating the 130th and
135th anniversaries of Black ministry in the Synod; affirming
responsible use of worship, supporting parish pastoral ministry,
reaffirming support for Lutheran schools and educators, and committing
to strengthening doctrinal education in the the Synod. (For more, go

	Convention finishes elections

	On Wednesday (July 14), delegates completed the elections of 35
people to nine Synod boards and commissions. (For more, go to

	Delegates approve Handbook revision

	By a vote of 921 to 230, the convention yesterday (July 14)
adopted a revision of the 2001 Handbook, which contains the Synods
Constitution, Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation. (For more, go to
