Synod of Living Waters calls new executive

Terry Newland succeeds David Snellgrove

LOUISVILLE - The Synod of Living Waters has unanimously called the Rev. Terry
Newland as its new synod executive. He succeeds the Rev. David Snellgrove,
who is retiring after a five-year term.

	Newland is currently executive presbyter for the Presbytery of
Sheppards and Lapsley in central Alabama. He was previously a pastor in
churches in Alabama for 21 years. Newland is a graduate of Auburn University
and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

	The synod also elected the Rev. Charles Van Devender as its new
stated clerk, succeeding the late Richard Baldwin. Van Devender, a member of
North Alabama Presbytery, has been serving as acting stated clerk since
Baldwin's death last year.

	The Synod of Living Waters includes churches and presbyteries in
Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky.
