American Baptist News Service (Valley Forge, Pa. 10/18/04)--Dr. Harold W.
Rast, who served as publisher for American Baptist Educational Ministries in
the mid-1990s, died Oct. 13.  He was 71.

Rast, who directed EM's Judson Press Department, also had held leadership
positions at Trinity Press International and Fortress Press.  He previously
had been professor of religion at St. Paul's College in Kansas City, Mo., and
had served pastorates in California.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church,
517 N. Queen St., Lancaster, Pa.  

Condolences may be sent to his wife, Jean, and family at 1322 Quarry Lane,
Lancaster Township, PA 17603.  Contributions in Harold Rast's name may be
made to the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, 646 West Lexington St.,
Baltimore, MD 21201.
