Video Streams: Anglican women bring messages from Liberia, Seychelles
[ENS] Anglican women, visiting New York in March for the 49th session of
the
United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), gave a series
of
interviews with Episcopal News Service, bringing news from their
provinces
and speaking about their commitment to issues of justice, peace and
gender
equity. Video streams of these interviews can be found online at:

Interview One
Amelia Ward: Episcopal Church of Liberia
Amelia Ward, a Liberian widow and mother of four, is chair of the
Planning
and Development Committee in the Episcopal Church of Liberia, a diocese
in
the Church of the Province of West Africa. In 2003, a comprehensive
peace
agreement ended 14 years of civil war in Liberia. Ward is an activist
and
leader of the Mano River Peace Process in West Africa.
Interview Two
Priscilla Julie: Diocese of Seychelles
Priscilla Julie is a legal practitioner and negotiator from the
Seychelles,
an island in the Indian Ocean. She notes vital issues facing women today
include economic empowerment, collective advancement, improvement of
health
conditions, and peace promotion. She feels that the women of the church
must
