New Web site offers information
on PC(USA)'s Katrina response
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE - A new Web site has been launched containing up-to-the-minute
information on the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s response to Hurricane
Katrina.
The site, developed by the Internet Services department of the Office
of Communication, in cooperation with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA),
is www.pcusa.org/katrina.
It includes information on how to donate money for the relief effort,
as well as volunteer opportunities for hands-on assistance.
The site also includes a registry for church members and pastors in
the areas impacted by Katrina - which is intended to help them contact one
another - and a public "bulletin board" for Presbyterians trying to reach
family or friends.
In addition, the site contains PDA "situation reports," links to
other disaster-relief organizations, worship resources for congregations and
an FAQ - "frequently asked questions" - section.
News stories about the disaster and relief efforts are available at
the Presbyterian News Service site, www.pcusa.org/pcnews.
