Anglican Cycle of Prayer 2006 takes on a new form
[Episcopal News Service] Forward Movement recently announced that
beginning
January 2006 the Anglican Cycle of Prayer will no longer be published as
a
book but as a CD-Rom.
Created in 1960, but in book form since 1975, the Anglican Cycle of
Prayer
has helped facilitate prayer for those throughout the Anglican
Communion.
The need to change mediums was facilitated by the speed by which
information
changes.
In place of the traditional book containing the names of all bishops and
dioceses of the Anglican Communion, Forward Movement will now print the
name
of the Anglican diocese to be prayed for each day at the bottom of that
day's "Forward Day by Day," beginning with the February/March/April 2006
issue. The cycle for January 2006 will be available as a Word document
or
pamphlet for order free-of-charge at 800.543.1813 or at
http://www.forwardmovement.org/showbook.cfm?prodid=J06ACP
In addition, the latest information on bishops and dioceses, by way of
the
Anglican Communion Office in London, may be found at their Anglican
Cycle
of Prayer link on the website.
The full 2006 cycle is available for order as a Word file on a CD - Rom
at
http://www.forwardmovement.org/showbook.cfm?prodid=ACP06.
For further information call 800.543.1813 or email
orders@forwarddaybyday.com.
Forward Movement Publications is an official agency of the national
Episcopal Church. Since 1935 they have produced pamphlets, booklets,
and
books to encourage and nourish people as they grow in their lives of
prayer
and faith. They are best known for the popular quarterly devotional
Forward
Day by Day, providing daily meditations based on readings from the Bible
appointed by the lectionaries. Forward Day by Day currently appears in
five
versions and in Spanish.
