DECATUR, GA - The trustees of Columbia Theological Seminary have named the
Rev. John E. White dean of students and vice president of student services.
White, an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), will take
office on Jan. 2. He will be in charge of student services, admissions and
financial-aid programs. He has been dean of students at Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary since 2000.

DECATUR, GA - Columbia Theological Seminary will celebrate the 10th
anniversary of its certificate program in spiritual formation on Nov. 1.
"Gathering of the Saints" will include a keynote address by Ben Campbell
Johnson, a professor emeritus of Christian spirituality and the designer of
the program. Admission is free, but advance registration is required. To

DECATUR, GA - "In Search of the Cross," an exhibit of more than 25
black-and-white photographs by Chuck Douglas, continues through Dec. 9 in the
Harrington Center at Columbia Theological Seminary. The photos explore the
cruciform image as it appears in everyday life. For more information, call

PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton Theological Seminary has formed a new partnership
with the journal Theology Today and Westminster John Knox Press (WJK). The
seminary will retain editorial control of the publication; WJK will handle
distribution, production and financial operations. James F. Kay, a professor
of homiletics and liturgics, is becoming editor; the Rev. Gordon Mikoski, an
assistant professor of Christian education and a minister in the PC(USA),
will be the book editor. The changes take effect with the April 2006 issue.

PRINCETON, NJ - The work of artist Elaine Chong will be on display in the
Erdman Art Gallery at Princeton Theological Seminary Nov. 1-Dec. 9. The
exhibit, called Inlet, will feature abstract works made by layering and
embedding materials such as handmade paper, silk tissue, oil and encaustic
wax on wood. Chong is the gallery and exhibit coordinator of the Robert
Schonhorn Arts Center in Peapack, NJ. The Erdman Gallery will host a free
reception for Chong on Nov. 10. For more information, call (609) 497-7990.

RICHMOND, VA - James W. Dale, director of admissions at Union Theological
Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education since 1995, is
leaving to become pastor of Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church in
Baltimore. Dale, whose last day at the seminary will be Nov.14, begins his
duties at the church on Dec. 1.
