1) MECC Unit on Education and Renewal Participates in the WCC Inter-faiths
Youth Forum 
The forum was organized jointly by the WCC Youth team and the Geneva
Inter-religious platform on the theme "Generation talk about identity" from
November 12-14, 2005, at the Ecumenical Center in Geneva. 15 young
Christians and Muslims from the Middle East and an MECC delegate from Egypt,
accompanied by the Unit Director and Youth Coordinator in Syria participated
in this forum, along with participants from Europe and Asia. They engaged in
several workshops and discussions on the issue of religious plurality and

2) Middle East Youth Preparing for the WCC 9th Assembly
Middle Eastern Youths who are nominated or registered to participate in the
forthcoming WCC 9th Assembly in Porto Allegre/Brazil, from February 14-25,
2006, either as delegates, stewards, Mutirao workshop participants, or as
advisers, have started preparing for the event. They will be meeting soon in
Cairo from December 9-10, 2005, at the Coptic Evangelical Seminary upon the
WCC/ME desk's invitation to coordinate their work.

The MECC is also organizing a Mutirao workshop on the theme "Christian
Presence in the Middle East" with the participation of youths from the
